Fablab Descartes

WHAT IS A Fablab ?

A Fablab is a space accessible to all with digital fabrication tools: 3D printers, laser cutter, numerical embroiderer; This place is also a platform for learning and innovation: a place to play, to create, to learn, to mentor, to invent.

FabLab DescartesThe Fablab Descartes was inaugurated in October 2015 in the East of Paris. His ambitions are to accelerate the transition from idea to prototype,  to stimulate skills through training and knowledge sharing, and also enhance social inclusion through the public awareness of digital technologies. It also carries a transverse action of local economic development and entrepreneurial initiatives support, by its close relationship with the Incubator Descartes.


Innovative companies, artists, enthusiasts DIY, researchers and students go to the  Fablab to make their creative or technical projects. By following the trainings provided in the Fablab or by participating in awareness workshops to digital technologies, members learn to design and manufacture their own objects that respond to their needs or the ones of their customers.
